A Few Of My Favorite Things: Beauty + Wellness Products

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd do another fun blog post about some of my favorite things that I've been enjoying lately. Summer is just around the corner, and I always find it fun to try new things. Whether that be a new product that has been recommended to me by a friend, going on an adventure somewhere that I've never been before, or maybe even reading a new book (anyone remember those Summer reading lists they used to hand out in school?). In this post, I will be featuring some beauty/wellness products that I have been really enjoying lately.

First is this Yes to Blueberries Face & Neck Oil. I've been trying to move towards more natural beauty products since the beginning of the year, and I love that I can apply this to my face without having to worry about chemicals absorbing into my skin. Not only does it smells fresh without being overwhelming, it leaves my skin so soft, especially in the morning after I've applied it at night. Y'all, I don't even need to use moisturizer after I've used this! I was a bit skeptical at first of putting on face oil, because I grew up with very oil skin- well into my teenage years- but as I've gotten older, my skin has started to change and the oil has been gone for a while now. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice, light serum to apply to your face instead of a moisturizer. In my experience, some moisturizers leave my face feeling heavy and oily, especially if I go to sleep immediately after applying it. Surprisingly, though, this face oil doesn't leave your skin feeling like it's had a bucket of oil dumped on it. Everyone wins with this product.

Next is this refreshing Organik Botanik Coconut & Sea Minerals Facial Mist. I like to spray this on my face before I apply my foundation, just to wake my skin up a little and give it some hydration. I picked this scent because it's not so perfume-y and it reminds me of a nice, tropical Hawaiian breeze. I will often spray this on my face throughout the day for a little pick-me-up as well.

I've had this Organix Coconut Milk Hair Serum for about 7 years now and I still love it! I will definitely be purchasing it again once it runs out. I apply this to the ends of my hair after I have showered and it makes them sooo smooooth. Plus, more coconut smells = being in Hawaii again. Oh, have I mentioned that my shampoo and conditioner are both coconut-scented as well? I may be just a little bit in love with coconut these days.

When I smelled this perfume, The Body Shop's Madagascan Vanilla Flower, at Marshall's a couple of years back, it stopped me dead in my tracks. It smells exactly like the perfume I wore on my wedding day (Dior's Hypnotic Poison) at a fraction of the cost! So, of course I bought it! I like to wear this perfume on bright sunny days and think back on all of the happy memories that made up my wedding day. It's a pretty light fragrance, but it lasts for most of the day. It also has some of my favorite scents in it: Amber andVanilla, as well as Frangipani (Plumeria).

This next product was a completely random purchase off of Amazon. I had some money left on a gift card and decided to go out on a limb and try this: The Seaweed Bath Co. Body Wash in Citrus Vanilla.

Oh. My. Word.

It is wonderful! It smells amazing as it's being lathered up, makes my skin super smooth, and the citrus smells helps wake me and my senses up in the morning! I highly recommend this if you're looking for a new natural body soap or wash.

And now for my nighttime routine! I'm very allergic to lavender, so trying to find an essential oil sleep blend that doesn't have any lavender in it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack- nearly impossible. After many hours of research, I decided to go with Plant Therapy's KidSafe blend called Sweet Dreams. It has Orange, Juniper, Coriander, Tansy (Blue) and Rose absolute oils. It's a pretty diverse and lovely smells that packs a punch and really does it's job with helping you to relax and drift off to sleep. It may seem a bit odd for a grown woman to be admitting that she uses an essential oil blend that is specifically created for young children, but this mama's got to get her sleep!

The second oil blend that I use at night is called Tranquil, also by Plant Therapy. Its oils include Bergamot, Patchouli, Blood Orange, Ylang Ylang, and Grapefruit. This is a bit more of an earthy smelling blend compared to Sweet Dreams, but they actually smell quite nice when they're all mixed together on your skin.

Last is this Dead Sea Magnesium OIl that I just recently started incorporating into my routine. The first night that I used it, it totally knocked me out (hurray for sleep!). I can confidently say that it really does help me fall asleep and stay asleep, but it also may give me crazy dreams. Haven't decided if that's from the Magnesium oil or just my crazy subconscious trying to tell me wacko things every night. It could very well be both.

I hope that you enjoyed this post (thanks for making it all the way to the end!), and maybe you will be inspired to trying something new in your daily routine. Whether it be one of these products that I recommended above, or perhaps a random purchase that has rave reviews on Amazon. Whatever the case may be, I'm sure that you'll find that trying something new can be a fun adventure!
